A fun thematic analysis of the Arkham Trilogy: "How the Arkham Trilogy Deconstructed Batman | Video Essay"

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 04:51 PM PST

WB Montreal's new Arkham game or Rocksteady's GaaS game. Which are you more excited for?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 04:11 PM PST

This question has been on my mind a bit lately and I know everyone is excited for WB Montreal's new Arkham game and everything but I wanted to know, which are you guys more hyped for? WB Montreal's Batman game or Rocksteady's Games as a Service game thing?

Personally I'm more hyped for WB Montreal's game but I am intrigued by Rocksteady's next game and hopefully it doesn't fail.

What’s your favourite side missions in all the Arkham games

Was going through my files and found this video from 2 years ago- you would think I'd be annoyed but I found it hilarious when stuff like this happened.

Has anyone beat the guys out in front of the Gotham Royal Hotel before entering it for the first time in Arkham Origins?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 06:53 PM PST

I'm playing through Arkham origins for the first time and just battled the boss on the rooftops and everything, and I was just curious... I tried to enter through the front door but that really didn't work for me well. Has anyone else beat all the enemies guarding the front door before just for fun? What's your strategy? I doubt there's an entrance there but idk.

(Of course I've been trying to keep as spoiler free as possible)

Theory: Joker's Manifestation in Arkham Knight wasn't the fear gas. It was his spirit. Hear me out:

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 07:39 PM PST

Joker's manifestations were... Something else. He was so evil when he was alive, I believe that he appeared as a demonic, possessive presence. The reason he never appeared before the incident at Ace Chemicals is because after Arkham City, Joker was stuck. With the new and improved toxin, it's very plausible that Batman's mind was loosened, and less sane than it was before. This gave a perfect opening for Joker's spirit, the perfect conduit.

This explains why he was always taunting Bruce about how he would be set free, and how he was afraid when he realized that Batman was most likely going to die when surrendering to Scarecrow. After discovering that there was no cure for the Joker Disease, Batman imagined what would happen, now that the toxin had taken affect, (even if he had overcame it) Joker was going to be free. With the body of someone who could potentially be very dangerous to innocent people, and the mind of the most psychotic people in history, Bruce knew that there would be no other way to save them. He had to die.

Not enough evidence? Joker talks about the afterlife while you are on the Riddler's side mission, mentioning what Talia Al Ghul is saying about Batman's relationship with Catwoman. Although this is arguably just his self-conscious telling him what Talia would think about this, it's still notable evidence, especially with the amount of detail Joker gives.

Personality changes play a strong part in possessions, which can explain Batman's change throughout the game, as Joker grows stronger.

At the end, when Joker is put away, locked inside a deranged, evil version of Arkham Asylum, it is a metaphor for locking Joker away in Bruce's mind, learning to ignore his existence.

"I need you," Is the last thing Joker says before he is locked away. A clear reference to the fact that Batman is his conduit, his source of life, his only chance at escape.

But also, as he grew stronger, did you notice that his scars and burns and marks from his sickness began to fade, and by the time you go to surrender to Scarecrow, he is perfectly fine, and looks like he did back in the Asylum. It's him gaining strength, his scars from his life, fading. He isn't in that twisted, broken body he was in before. He's better.

This is just a theory, but I strongly believe that Joker isn't just a product of the toxin, he is a real manifestation, taking advantage of Batman's weakening sanity. What do you think?
