    Hi there. Remember Scarecrow's third appearance in Arkham Asylum? Of course you do: this glitching screen, this alternative beginning... It can't be forgotten - so impressive it was. However, I think that it goes even further. In the title I wrote that I think that this is objectively the best video games experience ever.

    There are few reasons for it:

    • The first reason is simple: originality of the situation. You see, it was played so brilliantly that if any game will try to re-create it... It's going to be a rip-off. If developers want to give us some similar experience, they should do it their way and maybe even not know about Arkham Asylum. Maybe, something like that was in Nier: Automata and early Assassin's Creed-s, but it's a completely different story.
    • The other reason is more complicated but it kinda prevails above all the other games. You see, this situation is a fourth wall breaking. Still, it's unique because not every fourth wall breaking actually scares us. Well, at least it was really scary in 2009 when people just started playing this game: they were afraid of their system crashed (especially after not very technically successful launches of Xbox 360 and PS3, as far as I remember).

    Summing it up I'd like to ask two things. First: does anyone remember any game that breaks the fourth wall and actually scares us, giving us a natural feeling of fear (even though it's a fear for your console or PC). Second: would you accept it if any game uses the same situation or think that this is just a cheap rip-off? These are rhetorical questions because everything is understood.

    Still, there is a way to make this scene even better. Maybe, make the game crash to the desktop, maybe even make it freeze and non-close-able making player restart the entire system (or use the task manager). And after the new launch of this game player sees that everything gone completely mad. Well, this is just a dream still based on this Arkham Asylum's most impressive scene.
