SPOILERE Did Batman just hallucinate the death scene in Arkham Knight?

    Posted: 21 Nov 2020 04:24 AM PST

Replaying Knightmare, knowing what the twist is and watching carefully... mostly for plot-wise, how does Scarecrow pull this trick off?

So then, the biggest giveaway was that an imaginary joker moves a real gun, and this supposed real gun kills Barbara.

But how does Batman not bother to make sure?!?! The next bit is literally get Ivy's help, so its not like there was no time at all to check. It seems incredibly out of character or was he really so unstable mentally? (He did get gassed moments before, so it may be that he was still not all there in the head).

But what if Batman DID check? He would've gotten Barbara back immediately. Did Scarecrow just take such a huge risk?

What do you think, was the trick that Batman simply hallucinated everything?

    AK Combat... just wtf.

    Posted: 21 Nov 2020 05:13 AM PST

So I'm a huge fan of this series and I really loved the combat in the last few games. It's nice to see how they built off of it from Asylum to Origins. I've been playing the Arkham Knight AR challenges recently and it's been showing me how bad of a system it is in the game. It's too complex and has way too much stupid shit going on. Some of these things are enemies which execute attacks on the other side of the arena and somehow teleport over to hit me. Another is enemies who throw boxes that I know won't hit me, but somehow change direction midair. On top of that the camera is terrible, it follows me too closely when I preform a beatdown to the point where I can't even see what's going on behind me until it's too late. *sigh* Is this just me? I loved combat in all the other games and got almost perfect scores on all of them but wow... this is pretty bad when you're an advanced player.

There should be another Arkhamverse game

    Posted: 20 Nov 2020 02:08 PM PST

In Arkham Knight, you are Batman saving the City from Scarecrow whilst trying to stay sane because of the last game's events (you got Joker Flu or whatever it is) and Joker is slowly taking you over from the inside. At the climax, you trap the Joker part of the brain away in an interpretation of Batman's brain as an asylum. What would happen if Batman didn't seize control. Would he kill Scarecrow and Jim and return the Red Hood to his slave and let the legacy of the Joker live on. It would be amazing to have a game whee you play as Joker but not a bad FPS but something like to Arkhamverse.

Not the Arkham game we'll ever get, but the one that we need.

Major Problem I have with this trilogy is that the arkham Batman is the imo the definitive portrayal of Batman and and that do to limitations of how the game was structured and handled, (being taking place in one night, not controlling Bruce Wayne almost at all, etc...) This series never tapped it's full potential.

It's just really disapointing to get a Batman this great, being made by people this skilled, after making 3 (4) games, and never getting to play the Batman game I really want (the full batman experience). Now it makes sense we didn't get this, asylum was lower budget and was a good start choice, and Knight wanted to keep to the formula (which now basically was just apart of what an arkham game was) and have a super climatic, large scale, finnaly. Meaning this is mainly City's fault even though I love it.

This is the main reason I like Spiderman ps4 more than any arkham game, really delivered the more full spider-man experience.

What would this ideal batman game I speak of entail you might ask:

    • Open world gotham with more districts (narrows, skyscraper zone, rural, etc...)

-Less important main quest, alot of priorities besides just main quest, things can pick up torwards the end.

    -Day Cycles (like Spiderman ps4)

    • (not that there bad, just limiting compared to other Batman media) main storyline being something you would find in a really good movie (like spider-man's) Personally would want it to be a detective story.

    • competing gangs, having different methods to do this utilizing different skills and gadgets. when you fight one organization, another can consolidate power. Difficult to take on e out entirely but if you find way to take leader out (ex.penguin) new leader is weaker but there's a chance leader can escape down the line.

    • Assassin's can be sent after you, could implement some variation of nemisis system and can have the chance to break out of jail.

    • Crimes in progress, like spiderman, more variety preferably, bank robberies, buildings on fires, alley mugging.

-fully exportable Wayne Manor and batcave.

-Bruce Wayne play, maybe board meetings, investments, and parties. Maybe the ability to support a candidate.

    • More interactions with side characters.

    Thoughts?

Edit: and I don't hate the arkham series by the way. they are some of my favorite games.
