The greatest strengths of the Arkham games, aka which would I recommend based on the type of gamer I’m talking to.

    Posted: 18 Sep 2020 01:32 AM PDT

Arkham Asylum: I feel this is the game that can be most described as an experience and a piece of art, rather than a simple video game. There's a much, much smaller focus on the game being "fun" and enjoyable and a lot more on being immersive, atmospheric and putting you into the Asylum. The Asylum is an incredibly oppressive place, the confusing and labirynth-esque level design that's gonna give you headaches, the dead, deserted feel of the corridors and even the outdoor areas, and the overall morbid beauty of the world makes this game more suited to people who look for something different in games than just superficial enjoyment.

Arkham City: I think this is kind of the opposite. While the level design and the writing are relatively intelligent in execution, this one is probably the best if you want to play a game. It's simply fun, the level design is perfect (especially in the predator parts) both the predator and the combat are just complex enough to be believable and engaging without becoming overwhelming. This is the best game to just hop in and do a couple of challenge maps. I'd recommend this one to people who want a game to entertain them first and foremost.

Arkham Origins: The best story and exploration of Batman's character, his relationships with his villains and allies. Everything from the way the world is designed, to how the story is written is in service of Batman's character. I'd recommend this to people who are big fans of Batman and the Batman/Joker dynamic and prefer more personal Batman stories.

Arkham Knight: The biggest and most detailed world. Just like how everything in Origins is in the service of Batman's character and development, here, most things are in service of the world. The Batmobile, the incredible graphics that still hold up, the grandiose story, the many side-villains, the tank battles, this is the most open-world of the Arkham games, despite most of them being open-world. I'd recommend this game to people who enjoy open world games with tons of different activities and side-content, because I think this has even more of that than City.

I may post a follow-up talking about the biggest weaknesses of these games.

Tl;dr: Asylum feels most like an experience, City feels most like a game, Origins feels most like a story, and Knight feels most like a world.

In Riddler's puzzle, "Numeracy 101," the code for Batman's side is the beginning of pi

It's 31452. The beginning of pi is 3.14152... but the second 1 was skipped because you can't hit any of the buttons twice.

The 4 main Arkham games are perfectly balanced.

    Posted: 17 Sep 2020 04:38 PM PDT

Asylum and City are visually inspired mostly by Burton/The Animated Series era, while Origins and Knight are mostly inspired by The Dark Knight Trilogy era.

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be lmao.

Am I just bad? - Cloudburst tank Mission in Arkham Knight

    Posted: 17 Sep 2020 09:35 PM PDT

Im a casual and new to the series, so maybe I just suck and its my fault. But Im at the point where I just dont want to play the game anymore, cause I dont enjoy anything bout this mission, and I suck at it. I never really enjoyed the tank fights, but I was thinking its not that bad, at least its kinda simple. Cobras brought a new factor, which more than double the difficulty for me. I got used to them, but the numbers are increasing for them. And now the cloudburst tank mission, fuck. Im just done. Not like I enjoy the mission or the thrill of it, its boring, and annoying having to play cat and mouse for so long. Usually I will go through extremely hard missions if I find them fun or enjoyable, or even interesting.

The funny thing is once you get it down to like 3 cobra tanks, it's probably easy because more space to operate and get kills, but ive only gotten down to 5. I have a hard time solidifying when they're separated (they seem to stay really close), and I feel like my window is short to get the kill if another tank is nearby.

And I have never faced the actual Cloudburst, so who knows how much worse that monster is. Maybe its on me because I didnt realize how important it was to upgrade my batmobile, so I dont have much upgrades or upgrade point. I dont enjoy grinding, but maybe I should grind to max out my batmobile before returning. Or is there a strategy that I can do right now?

Sorry, this is kind of a rant. it's just I wish I could skip this mission in some way
