    Arkham Knight Ending Explained Batman Arkham Knight Ending:

    (SPOILER WARNING)

    After completing the game multiple times now, I feel that I have a firm understanding of the ending to the brilliant Arkham trilogy. I have seen numerous theories online, most of which assume Batman is alive in some physical form.

    At the end of the game, Batman's identity as Bruce Wayne is revealed. This means that Batman can never physically return. Once his identify has been exposed, it's over for the Dark Knight.

    Bruce Wayne returns to his mansion, with a crowd outside his gates, he closes the door and blows up Wayne Manor. Giving the false appearance that he has committed suicide. Knowing the skills of illusion Bruce Wayne has developed through years of being a superhero, we can safely assume that he escaped the explosion, with Alfred, unharmed.

    Now, Gotham believes that Batman is no more. But at the final clip of the game, we see a mugging being interrupted by a dark, ominous bat-looking figure. The crooks are confused at first, which quickly turns into pure fear. The bat grows, smoke emerging from its shadow and a fierce explosion causing a fog of fire to flood the environment around them. Despite many theories believing this is Batman, I believe this is inaccurate.

    The strange, nightmarish effects the thieves see are the result of different factors. The first, and indeed the most important, is the the fact that these thieves in Gotham were still in the city when Scarecrows released his fear toxin. We know from the game, that the fear toxin effects can last for a long time. Whilst the intense experiences of fear diminish over time, the victim can still feel the effects. The crooks in Gotham all fear Batman and his return, this is why they see him on the roof top. The nightmarish visuals the crooks see, are also similar to the effects witnessed by the Police Officer in the Diner at the beginning of the game. So this is not Batman on the rooftop, instead it is a nightmare hallucination projected by the fears of the two criminals.

    The second factor, is the legacy of the Batman. Even though the Dark Knight has fallen, his legacy lives on. Crooks fear him even in death, they fear his return and will think twice before committing crimes in the future. Batman's legacy is the criminals fear. They fear the punishment of the bat. This is exacerbated by Scarecrows fear toxin still in the criminals who remained behind in the events of Arkham Knight.

    To conclude, Bruce Wayne and Alfred are alive. Batman is dead but his legacy lives on through the fear of criminals, ever present thanks to Scarecrows toxin.

    [SPOILERS] Theory: Batman already had the Joker infection in Asylum

    So I was playing through arkham asylum and I noticed something that led to this theory. So in the last scarecrow fight you have to fight skeleton thugs and a skeleton titan, but they only take one knockdown to knockout. You would assume this is because they arent real but at the end of the fear toxin part you see a bunch of knocked out enemies around you, including a titan, meaning that you were actually fighting people. Normally titans have huge health bars but you are able to take them down in one hit. My theory is that this is because you already have the joker infection in you, just a very small amount. As we saw in arkham knight on the blimp, the joker fear toxin version of batman is brutal, able to take out militia thugs much faster. My theory is the huge dose of fear toxin you get in asylum releases temporarily some small amount of joker blood you have in you just from fighting him in the past and there being some very small blood contamination. Just a theory I had, let me know what you think
