Who are the best & worst playable characters in AK?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:52 AM PST

Just seeing who people think is the most and least fun to play. Feel free to rank combat and predator separately!

For combat, my favorite is Batman and my least favorite is Harley, I have issues using her stun move.

For Predator my favorite is Robin (shield bashing thugs off ledges us fucking hilarious) and my least favorite is Nightwing... I just found him difficult to stealth with

I'm looking for all the Arkham Knight's voicelines, including radio lines and cutscenes, but I can't find it anywhere on YouTube at least

My interpretation of Cain and Abel symbolism in Arkham City

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 05:09 AM PST

After playing the game, one thing kept nagging me - How does that painting of Cain and Abel in any way represent Batman carrying Joker in the end? I mean, Cain killed Abel, his own brother, he is considered to be an originator of evil. How can someone like that be Batman? It hit me yesterday, so here's my theory:

Arkham City's main theme is all about whether Batman is as insane as those he fights again, whether his interference makes things worse. Strange's main goal is to prove that throughout the game. One of his lines actually made me come up with this interpretation - "Look at the Joker. Would he even exist if not for you?"

Now, in Arkham universe, Killing Joke origin story seems to be the one Joker has. Sure, he constantly talks about multiple choices, but this origin seems to be the one with the most weight. In it, Batman's interference caused Joker to accidentally fall into vat of acid, creating Joker basically. So, based on this, we can say that Batman is partially responsible for creating Joker.

That's when it hit me that painting doesn't represent what's exactly happening, rather what Batman is feeling. He sees himself as someone responsible for Joker, as "originator" of him. That's why he doesn't kill him, deep inside, he feels sorry for Joker, because under all that make-up and horrible atrocities, he still sees a broken man who lost everything and is trying to prove that everyone can be broken. Batman sees himself as someone who lead Joker to this path, therefore causing his death.

Cain and Abel were also brothers, and both Batman and Joker represent that differently. Both were born because of a horrible tragedy, both are set to prove the world that their worldview is the right one, and both seem to be unable to change. They are very similar, with their goal being the major difference. Not only that, but they have even same blood running through their veins in this game now, which takes it even further.

So, in the end, Batman feels like he is Cain, and he sees Joker as a victim of his actions, as Abel. That's why in Arkham Knight, his Joker subconscious tells him that he killed Joker. Now, whether Batman is actually Cain, whether he actually makes things worse, is left ambigous, which I really love.

Or, maybe I'm just overthinking it...

Playing as my favorite two Batmen

I hope that in Batman's next game they will diminish the hundreds of riddles

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 07:00 AM PST

Instead of hundreds of boring riddles and the replay factor, you can do 12 missions with puzzles.

    Controller Issues

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 10:56 AM PST

    Hey there.

I just got this game on steam and I feel like input display is kinda weird.

I'm using an XBO wireless controller and the game keeps giving me those very generic 'Pad_A' 'Pad_LT' input operations, where I would assume some kinda colorful icons.

It also wont let me enter the controller options ingame. Going there, the game just gets stuck with no way out other than closing the game entirely.

Anyone got an idea what the issue is?
