[Spoilers] Cool idea that I would've liked to see in Arkham Knight

    Posted: 18 Nov 2019 02:05 AM PST

So before I post this I would like to say Arkham Knight is my second favorite Arkham game (first is Asylum, that means, yes city is third, blasphemy). But even though I love this game certain parts could definitely use improvement.

Obviously I want to talk about the main man himself: Lob.... I mean The Arkham Knight. Now I didn't mind that Jason was The Arkham Knight, but his final boss fight and reveal weren't as good as it could have been. The reveal was very anti climatic and the boss fight was just ok. For me at least.

So I was thinking what if Damian was the Arkham Knight. The Heretic comes to mind, so the idea of an accelerated and grown up Damian isn't far fetch. The idea of an adult Damian Wayne looking for Revenge for the death of his mother, to me is cool. Plus Damian doesn't have his own superhero persona outside of Robin and Batman.

However here's the twist Jason Todd is still in the story, however he's still the Red Hood. He acts as a rival to the Arkham Knight and a mystery ally to Batman. As Jason was saved and trained by Talia or the league he knew of Damian's existence. To me like in og AK Jason would still be bitter at Bruce for Bruce not saving him and believes Bruce did replace him. However he would act less angry and more cold and distant only giving Bruce info that will help him save Gotham, but little else.

I also think that we should've been able to explore Arkham Asylum. I think it would've been cool if it had been tricked out to be a twisted version of the batcave and the Arkham Knight's HQ.

Obviously I believe that in the end Damian would take the Batman mantle.

Now this is just me saying what I thought would've made Arkham Knight's story a little cooler based on my taste, but please let me know what you think.

Just played an Arkham game for the first time!

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 05:11 PM PST

I bought the Arkham Returns package for PS4 and Arkham Knight (which I already had but only played for a little bit a while ago and decided to first play the first two games). And WOW!

Didn't expect Arkham Asylum to be so freaking cool! I am at the beginning but I can't wait to go through the whole trilogy. Also, didn't expect this to hold up so well graphically.

    Hyped!!!

Does anyone hate the reason for changing the suit in Arkham Knight?

    Posted: 18 Nov 2019 04:19 AM PST

"Oh, there are three gunmen Lucious, what will I do? I need a supersuit right now" - like, seriously Batman?

Would've been much better if his current suit got trashed, so he needed the prototype new suit instead.

Rocksteady or WB should make a Daredevil game.

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 03:26 PM PST

I was just playing Batman: Arkham Origins again and doing some challenge maps with Initiation Bruce and I noticed the ropes on his arms, which reminded me of when Daredevil used the same type of Muay Thai ropes to enable him to do greater damage to the Kingpin in the Daredevil TV show series. The fighting style that Bruce uses in his Vigilante and Initiation outfits really suits Daredevil. If you took Nightwing's fighting style and mixed it with Initiation fighting style you could have a super satisfying and awesome Daredevil game. I mean, he already has a baton that doubles as a grappling hook, it could be used for various types of gadgets. Daredevil also has a lot of really cool different type of costumes you could add into the game to allow some customization. (For example you could have his Shadowland outfit as well as the two live action versions of his suit, the movie and the TV show, and maybe include his Man In Black outfit as well.)

Daredevil also has his super hearing, which can basically double as detective vision. I mean really, why has no one tried to make a Daredevil game in the vein of the Arkham games? The combat system in the BA games has been copied various times because of how amazing and satisfying it is, and right now all Marvel has going for them is Spider-Man and (maybe) that Avengers game coming out. I think a lot of heroes could make for an amazing game but a lot of devs just don't know how to transport some of them from the page (or screen). Like I understand that we haven't had a really amazing Superman or Flash game yet but Daredevil seems so simple and there's so much to do with his character.

Daredevil, while similar in morals to our beloved Caped Crusader, is not in anyway a similar hero because he is motivated not only by the death of his Father, but by his own Catholic guilt. With the Daredevil show being unfairly cancelled I think we're all hungering for a good Daredevil tale, and how better to tell a story about a hero with incredible abilities than to let the person enjoying the story interact with it?

Imagine running across the rooftops of New York City (Hell's Kitchen) and using your radar sense to find criminals. I can imagine this being a great idea and making for an incredible game. I don't know if it would be too similar to the Batman games for somebody to try to do something like this but people would consider it basically standard fare for a studio like Rocksteady considering their previous epic projects.

Thanks for reading this, I hope you take my idea into consideration.

Edit: I just thought about something they could do like an interrogation system, like you press criminals for information and use your radar sense to tell whether they're lying or not. Wouldn't that be awesome? Why didn't any Batman game have any interaction in interrogation? I'm thinking something like what you can do in Splinter Cell: Conviction where you can interrogate people in different ways within the environment.
