    Beta Bleake Island

    In Arkham Knight I got really bored and just decided to walk around places, in the GCPD I found several of these "Beta" Bleake Island maps (I say Beta with quotations because it could even be Alpha or original "drawing board" map design for the game's map). These maps do make me believe that at one point Arkham Knight's map was originally just supposed to have one island, that being Bleake Island.

    You can see buildings on this map though they are very rough. As well as what appears to be a boat, Wayne Tower, ACE Chemicals, the lighthouse near ACE, and that gigantic crane thing in between Chinatown and Panessa Studios. I speculated that there were bridges and monorail lines based on how roads kind of "just ended" and that there were skinny black lines that also kind of fit the "track of the monorail lines in the current game.

    However I later decided to take the current Bleake Island and fit parts that I thought fit together I went through four phases in this "puzzle" process...

    1. Cutting: where I cut the current map into pieces
    2. Translating: where I put the pieces into where they look like they should go.

    3) Cleaning: where I make rough edges and what not go away and fit more so to the source image.

    4) Fixing: where I do all kinds of fixes on the map such as: buildings and districts.

    Now that all of this is done you may be wondering where Panessa Studios is. Well it could be the case that, that story element was not considered or it is the building behind Wayne Tower (on Wayne Tower's lower right) and north of ACE Chemicals.

    I did not touch up on the blank spaces in between all of the districts because I do not know what would have gone there. Now for a comparison image.

    Hopefully this will prove interesting or useful.

    Note: Sometimes in the making of the "current translation" part I had to scale certain parts of the map down so that it would match its "beta" counterparts.

    Concept art can loosely back up some of the Beta Bleake Island's (the second map and the first digitalized map) building positioning. Rocksteady in previous games had always been very faithful to certain pieces of concept art in the past, in this game that was not so much the case except for stuff on Founders' Island, which was likely added in the game in what I would say was early spring of 2013 while some things that were once on Beta Bleake Island were sent to other parts of the then 3-Island map (the current map), such as Wayne Tower. Also the shape of Wayne Tower is the correct shape of Wayne Tower (the same shape that we always saw in previous games before Arkham Knight), not the shape that we got in the current game (they pulled the current version from the Gotham Skyline concept art and took very few liberties; also in the Gotham Skyline concept art ACE Chemicals is not far from Wayne Tower, as is the GCPD).

    Does anybody know if the DLCs are no longer in stock for the PlayStation. I recently got the game and the add ons wouldn’t download after everything I’ve done. Now it’s telling me that they are no longer for sale. Does anybody have any solutions?
