Just finished Arkham Knight(Normal Mode), here's my thoughts before NG+! Posted: 18 Nov 2020 10:03 PM PST AK was a game I didn't expect to be playing as much as I did. I remember getting spoiled thanks to Youtube Recommendations awhile back about the first 2 games(Asylum/City) and when my brother wanted to get Knight because it was ~7 USD, I didn't expect to be playing it until I opened a save file(as much as I did). And after about 2 months on-and-off, I 100%ed Normal mode! Overall, the game was a solid 7/10. While combat, the open world, and some of the side missions were amazing, like a lot of people (apparently) the Batmobile was used WAY too much, the story kinda lost its appeal halfway, and there was so much potential for many wasted side characters. Good Stuff First The combat and movement was, of course, god-tier. I've played a few open world games but I never realized just how fluid the combat system is in Arkham - you gotta plan out your attacks as opposed to going in gung-ho, and while this was initially difficult to adjust to, overtime I loved doing the multiple silent takedowns so I could do the famed Fear Multi-Takedown. The massive array of gadgets you had at your disposal made you truly feel like the Dark Knight. The open world had its appeal too. First off, after exploring the entire city no one should live here - this city's full of crime and is so awful, even by Arkham standards. But it was cool exploring secret buildings and finding secret riddles - even the taxidermy job done near the docks had its macabre appeal, though Stagg Airships was less friendly. The psychological sequences during the main story were the icing on top, allowing us an insight into Batman's struggling psyche, and overall the atmosphere of the game was fittingly creepy. And holy shit, the graphics and optimization is insane. And finally, the side missions also had their appeal - from taking out checkpoints to halting Two-Face and Penguin's operations, those fights were amazingly fun. Saving the firemen had their own grit to it, and truly made the ~2 square mile city feel like something bigger. But no mission felt as satisfying as "The Perfect Crime". I'll never forget the first time I flew over Gotham looking for a Riddler Trophy, only to hear some strangely familiar opera music and land face to face with a dead body. The "Campaign for Disarmament" mission was also fun, as you got to test your skills to the max. But on that note, Bad Stuff Next This is a common criticism so I won't elaborate. Batmobile overused. I get that it's an endgame but man, you needed the Batmobile for pretty much going from one building to the next. The characters had a lot of hype and while some, such as Barb, Pyg, and Batman, stayed consistently good, others kinda fell flat. Azrael was crazy hyped until his final mission is just leaving without a word(and you never see him again), Hush was alluded to a ton but all it took to take him down was 1 environmental takedown and you never see him again, Deathstroke's fight would've been more interesting had he had a different type of tank, especially after taking out all those land threats, and Joker, while I can understand why he's in Batman's head, overshadowed Scarecrow to the point where the latter wasn't relevant until the final legs of the story. Now don't get me wrong - I like how Scarecrow is much more subtle than the Joker, but there wasn't even any sort of fight or anything against him - he was just kinda there for plot and nothing more. He was fucking COOL in Asylum, and I get that the events of that would change him in Knight, but man there were like NO boss fights, and I was really hoping for one with Scarecrow instead of what we got - a cinematic scene, not even an environmental takedown. But most annoying was the Arkham Knight himself. He was crazy formidable and hyped especially in the tunnel, but by the time he revealed himself it was pretty obvious who it was, and after his breakdown he is never seen again until conveniently during the final battle, and once again, he disappears right after. The Arkham Knight literally disappeared in the night. And as a result, the story fell through halfway. While I'm okay with Knightfall, Scarecrow made it all too easy for Batman to infect him with the fear toxin - he kinda lost his whole novelty with the calm villain facade, and Joker overshadowed him way too much as his psychological impact was much more than Scarecrow's. But all in all, the challenges were fun, it felt great to save GCPD officers by crushing thugs' cars, you truly felt like the Batman, but holy shit, BATMOBILE. I'm gonna try NG+ as soon as exams over, and I expect it'll be a fun ride as well! [link] [comments]

How do I complete the Azrael side quest in NG+? Posted: 18 Nov 2020 03:09 PM PST So I completed the side quest in the normal game, and I saw Azrael once (in Park Row) in NG+. But at all his other spawn points he's not there, but the symbol is. The symbol at the final location is also there. None of them are scannable, and the statistics page says I've only completed 20% of the side quest for my NG+. [link] [comments]
