Imagine if we get this suit in new game, would be cool

Arkham Origins Firefly was so much better

    Posted: 27 May 2020 11:21 AM PDT

On my most recent playthrough, Scarecrow said a monologue I never heard before. After all this time, I'm still discovering new dialogue.

As much as I love these games, I really suck at them.

    Posted: 27 May 2020 06:02 PM PDT

I suck at pretty much any combat in any video game, but for a series where the combat relies entirely on getting high combos, and I'm lucky if I can get over 5 combos without breaking them up, well I always feel like I'm not good enough to be playing these games, as silly as that sounds. I'm better at the predator segments for sure but still not very good tbh. I've asked you guys before for tips and tricks but I've never gotten any better, so that's not why I'm making this thread. Idk, I guess I just wanted to get that out there and maybe see if anyone loves the series but also absolutely sucks at it.

    Arkham Appreciation- storytelling risks

    Arkham Appreciation- storytelling risks

One of my favorite things about this series was that, among other things, they told a STORY. And even more importantly, it was an ORIGINAL story. This series was never just a straight adaptation or a collage of pre-existing comic storylines, it was really it's own thing. And i feel like we don't talk about that enough, that the creators had the balls to actually take genuine storytelling risks and bring something new to the table.

Like...the Joker kidnapping Black Mask, impersonating him, and inviting a bunch of killers to Gotham City on Christmas Eve to wreak havoc and hunt down Batman all for his own personal amusement....thats cool as fuck, and genuinely original.

    https://i.redd.it/vg6eok8wfd151.gif

and then the ENTIRE premise of Arkham City was so unique and unprecedented. Brainwashed militiamen patrolling a walled off prison city, with the intention of slaughtering everyone inside...in service of the League of Assassins?? Like...I'm so impressed with the level of storytelling and just straight up worldbuilding that is going on here.

    https://i.redd.it/utfcfpo9gd151.gif

And then they had the nerve to have THE joker die 2/3 of the way through their trilogy, of a disease no less. After using Clayface to impersonate him and fuck with Batman's head...Like, this isn't your typical old school video game. This is some legit writing going on.

    https://i.redd.it/bbe9o1zygd151.gif

I even admire they took a chance and made Talia the big love interest of the series, simply because 99% of comics in the last twenty years paint her as a b-list psycho baby mama. They actually subverted the typical Batman/Catwoman typical relationship, and chose to explore something different.

    https://i.redd.it/22elvjtehd151.gif

The way they completely redefined the story of Jason Todd, and crafted a really tragic, dark character. He's not even an antihero, he's a cold blooded killer who mows down anything in his way without a second thought. And the way they removed the death/resurrection crap from his past and just made him the victim of torture and manipulation...a darker and more grounded take on a beloved character.

    https://i.redd.it/osc909l0id151.gif

Even to the end, the story was ambitious and unique. Bruce is unmasked as Batman, publicly stages his own death, and then "resurrects" as an even more terrifying spectre only referred to in passing as "the Ghost." Like, can we just shout out Rocksteady for not going in the been-there-done-that direction of him retiring of old age, or even trying to shoe-horn in the Batman Beyond universe.

Long story short, whether they pulled every single plot twist off or not, lets just take a moment to appreciate the narrative strength, originality, and risk taking of these games. They are not just BTAS episodes in video game format, they are not direct adaptations that bring nothing to the table, they are completely their own world and their own universe. These stories stand on their own two feet, and have withstood the test of time.

Origins is better than Knight Tbh

    Posted: 28 May 2020 12:56 AM PDT

I just finished Knight on PC( my God FPS sucks) But tbh... I found origins to be better than knight. Part of the Reason Batmobile and useless gadgets. Let's be real, if you are like me you must have used Disruptor and Remote Hack and Voice Synthesiser only. You can beat the whole game by using those 3 only. Other gadgets just we're there just to use here and there. And oh my God the batmobile... I am Ok with batmobile as long as you don't put it in Riddlers mission. I am happy with Tank battles but please don't design your maps so that you are forced to use batmobile everytime.

P.S:- Would have loved to see superman make a cameo in Knight (especially in defend GCPD missions)

What is the Joker DLC in Asylum?

    Posted: 27 May 2020 03:13 PM PDT

Is it a regular DLC (like the ones in Knight), is it just challenge maps or is it something else? I recently bought the game (Return to Arkham) and I haven't played it yet or seen any footage of it.
