At this point in the game, I often could not resist leaving one enemy frozen in the background somewhere so I could beatdown the Joker for at least a few minutes! [Batman Arkham City]

Haven't replayed Arkham Knight since 2015 and just beat it tonight. That game is an absolute classic and unquestionably holds up to the rest of the series.

I see a lot of complaints about Arkham Knight, mainly aimed at the Batmobile. I will admit the tank battles don't feel like something you should be doing in a Batman game. However, I'd argue they're are very well done mechanically speaking, and I always have a lot of fun playing them. Sure it's disappointing that the boss battles aren't as thematically satisfying as the rest of the series, due to many of them feeling swapped out for tank fights, but they're at least cool tank fights.

Also the story doesn't get enough praise, particularly the ending. The entire game is so cinematic and genuinely makes you feel like you're fighting for Batman's soul, and the ending doesn't let up for a second. It's so intense I found myself speeding in between missions because I had to keep going. When you get to the ending at Arkham Asylum and it mirrors the beginning of the franchise and circles back to Batman's ultimate nightmare of losing who he is, it really feels like it has the emotional weight to really tell a fitting end to Bruce Wayne. It's just all so perfect. And it feels so uniquely Batman, because he knew the whole time that Jason would come and save him. You really always have a plan for everything.

Why does Origins get so much hate?

    Posted: 30 May 2020 12:10 AM PDT

Hi guys! So first of all I'm just really curious why the game gets so much hate. The reason I'm asking is I'm considering getting this game. The lack of "boss fights" in Arkham Knight gave me an itch about it, and I heard that Origins has the best in the franchise. Although, I hear so much about Origins being the worst one? Why is that?

    Joker in Arkham Knight

Villians that could be featured/introduced in Arkham Legacy's Most Wanted missions

    Posted: 29 May 2020 10:28 AM PDT

If the game comes after Origins, i would leave Joker in prison until the end credits, where you could see him plan the events for asylum. There could also be a cutscene where Harvey Dent gets hit with acid and becomes Two Face in the same courthouse in City.

Some of the most wanted characters would be

    • The Ventriliquist and Scarface

    • Poison Ivy

    • Harley Quinn

    • Scarecrow

    • Catwoman

    • Rā's al Ghûl

    • Riddler with a reduction of trophies and more riddles like in Asylum

    • Victor Zsasz

    • Maroni and Falcone gang fights

    • Calendar Man

    • Great White Shark

    • Ratcatcher

    Expansion missions include

    • Phantasm

    • Polka Dot Man and Condiment King team up

    • Black Mask

    • Blight

    Lois Is The Key

    Posted: 29 May 2020 06:19 PM PDT

It's June 2015, nearly five years ago. I play Arkham Knight till I've fallen asleep at my chair. A portal erupts in my room shaking me awake, in the portal is a beaten and bloodied man, he's me from the future.

"Bruuuuuce, the delays! Don't let them tease the game in 2018! It's a soft-reboot, that's the key to all this! Also don't let them start making a co-op suicide squad game, it never gets off the ground!"

The portal vanishes. I shrug and get to work on my challenge maps (oh wait, those were ass in AK, nvm)

This is all to say I'm from the future and they won't announce it at the PS5 event this Thursday!

What’s going on in the Bowery? And 3 jokers

    Posted: 29 May 2020 07:40 PM PDT

So I was running around towards the last quarter of the game, just before you enter the steel mill and then protocol 10 starts. There's something weird going on in the Bowery. You can occasionally hear inmates begging not to be shot and even without this there sounds like heated gunfight. I actually think I've already answered my own question before because it's explained two face takes the museum from penguin and basically kills all his men, which in itself is something I've never noticed before somehow, but I'm not totally sure that's what I'm hearing because it's not just in the museum but all along that part of the Bowery that's under the big glass ceiling, like the ground level mall kind of area stretching over to park row on the very west side. I guess that's the best explanation for now but every time I heard that I wanted to investigate and see what was going on, but detective mode wouldn't point me to the source of the inmates pleading mercy or the gunshots or anything.

Right before I posted this, I was running around post main story and heard an inmate say "two jokers? How do we know there's not three?" Now I'm not sure if Geoff Johns thought of the three jokers thing while this game was being made in 2011 (the new 52 debut!) but either way I felt like that was simpsons level foreshadowing, even if it was just a coincidence. It was a super meta experience and I guess it aged well, even though we don't have the comic yet (to my knowledge) and that line probably wasn't referring to that.

Did Rocksteady ever take over that cancelled Suicide Squad game that WB were working on?

    Posted: 29 May 2020 01:27 PM PDT

Haven't been able to find much details on it apart from: "oh wb cancelled it a while ago"

Though, apparently some insiders have claimed that Rocksteady took over the project last year which I'm not too sure about.

What side missions would you like to see in a new game?

    Posted: 29 May 2020 11:57 AM PDT

If it’s a completely new world...

    Posted: 29 May 2020 09:47 AM PDT

What are some things you would change/update that Arkham didnt/couldn't do?

For example, I'd scrap their image of Gotham and go for something more stylized and foreboding.

I'd recast everybody to really differentiate from the Arkham games and give some new people the chance to shine. No offense Tara Strong, Troy Baker, and Grey Griffin, but bye bye. Time for some new blood.

Arkham batman was a loner to the point where he actively treated his allies like shit, so I'd change that and have him be a little warmer. Yes, he should be stern and broody, but he was such a douche to his allies and acted like he didn't need them. Like...Barbara, Tim, Jason, Dick, even Selina...just so cold. It wasn't believable that they'd be loyal to him.

Make Gotham feel more alive. The desolate wasteland vibe of Arkham Gotham worked for what it was, but I'd like to see something new.

Completely change character appearances. Bruce Wayne looked like a comically large bodybuilder with the facial features of a gorilla, especially in knight. Fix that. Give us a completely new version of the Joker. Arkham played it safe with him, show us the level of innovation Ayer displayed in Suicide Squad (not saying he nailed it but at least he tried something new).

So yeah those are my suggestions off the top of my head, what are some new things they should try in the new universe?
