The Total Area of Gotham City In The Arkham Games is Roughly Equal To 36 Arkham Asylums

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 01:11 AM PDT

I am pretty sure this has been done before, but here is how:

Arkham Asylum's map = 1 Arkham Asylum (Obviously)

Arkham City's map = 5 Arkham Asylums (According to Dax Ginn between timestamps 1:30 and 1:40 of this video)

Arkham Origins' Gotham's map (which includes the Arkham City map) = 2 Arkham Cities = 10 Arkham Asylums (Check this Ben Mattes interview at 6:50)

Therefore, South Gotham and Pioneer's Bridge area = 1 Arkham City = 5 Arkham Asylums

Arkham Knight's Gotham's Map = 5 Arkham Cities = 25 Arkham Asylums (According to multiple sources, but here is one)

Total PLAYABLE area of Gotham City (excluding the Batcave, DLC Maps and Blackgate Prison) = 1 + 5 + 5 + 25 = 36 Arkham Asylums

So, yeah, that's the approximate size until someone from r/theydidthemath proves me wrong LMAO.

Edit: This only accounts for the playable areas, so if there is some area that you can see but can't visit in any of the games, I am not counting the area of that.

[Theory] Why the Arkham Knight uses drones

    Posted: 18 Apr 2020 07:10 PM PDT

I think one of the biggest criticisms towards the Arkham Knight was that the Knight uses non-manned tanks and that if the tanks were manned, then Batman wouldn't be able to actually destroy them because he would kill the soldier inside the tank which would go against Batman's no kill rule.

I think the answer is pretty simple though. First, if the tanks were manned, then Batman would still face them, he'd just do something other than completely destroy the tanks till they explode. He would probably use some sort of special EMP cannon or something like that which would deactivate the tanks and break them apart without completely exploding them. Or maybe it could force the eject mechanism for the soldiers to get them out. When Arkham Knight leaves his little chopper at the begging of the game so batman could go all out, that's exactly what he means. Batman would be at a disadvantage if he faced manned tanks, but he's Batman, he can still do it. He just wouldn't go all out.

So why does the Arkham Knight not use manned tanks? Forcing batman to go easy on the tanks could be the advantage he needs to take down the Bat. Well, the answers simple: The Arkham Knight doesn't have enough soldiers. If you go as far as to take down Slade in the game, then their will be no more Arkham Knight Soldiers roaming the streets. This only happens with the Arkham Knight soldiers; if you take down Two-face or Penguin, their men still roam the street. Only with the Arkham knight do you take down and capture all his soldiers, and they can all fit inside the GCPD building cells. The Arkham Knight might have an army, but it is a very small army and one that he had to tactically set up to take on all of Gotham. He didn't have a choice other than to assign the drones to a small unit of his men.

This also explains why the stealth tank sections are more like MGS1 stealth in their mechanics, multiple tanks are probably set to act automatically to a certain extent.

TL;DR: Arkham Knight's army is smaller than you think, and he didn't have enough men to use the tanks, so he assigned a small team to remotely control all tanks. And Batman would have managed to take on manned tanks non-lethal if that were the case.
