ARKHAM BATMAN: CHARACTER ANALYSIS.

I believe the Arkham Batman is the definitive Batman. Its derivative of BTAS , Nolan and couple others. The games explore the theme of the symbiotic relationship between Batman and Joker.

1.Theme of the Arkham games:

The games potray the gradual failure of Batman. It makes a point that Batman isn't the solution to Gotham's problems. Each game gets progressively grittier. In AC Batman flat out fails in all his missions; Talia is dead , Joker is dead , Protocol 10 couldn't be deactivated in time (a lot of prisoners died ) , the state of Gotham is worse than ever , and finally Batman failed to completely cure himself / he's slowly dying and so is his power over Gotham.

Remember the Gotham of AO. Now compare that Gotham to AC and AK. Things are much much worse.

AK has the theme of fear. Bats faces his fears. Fear of becoming just like Joker. He knows he's just a step away from being one of Gotham's villains. He is as crazy as Joker himself. In AK tries to redeem himself. He actually gives up for once , faces his fears , puts the safety of his allies over crimefighting. This is Batman realising the futility of his life's work. Batman wasn't the answer. Batman is just another insane product of the hell that Gotham is.

In AO he's young , brutal and angry.

In AA he's more calm and focused.

In AC things get worse. Batman is losing his edge (Mental state cause he is dying). He is massive dick to his allies and enemies. Always angry and some of his old brutality is back.

In AK Batman becomes more sane while ironically he's is gradually becoming the Joker.

AC AND AK flatout have bitter endings.

TLDR; ARKHAM GAMES IS BATMAN DECONSTRUCTED.
