    Opinion: My ideal populated Gotham

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 12:15 AM PDT

From my perspective it's not the number of NPCs that bring a game world to life, but selectively choosing characters and animating environments. For example, you could be cruising around Gotham in the Batmobile swerving around the odd car and truck passing by the occasional pedestrian. Maybe a late night stroller with his hands in his pockets, or people smoking outside a nightclub with music blaring from inside. I'd definitely bring back the alleyway mugging like the Arkham City acts of violence with victims screaming out. It's anything that really emphasises Gotham as a cesspit of crime and antisocial activity. Pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers etc. Gotham has to feel really run down.

Animating environments is another way of bringing the city to life. Why not have moving shadows at windows that give the impression buildings are inhabited, or the flicking lights of televisions. Animals aren't the obvious choice, but they do a great job animating environments. Chained up barking dogs and fleeing rats in alleyways, cats prowling the rooftops, and crows flying. Electronic stores with TVs in the window playing the latest news. Police car chases. Ambulances and fire engines. Buildings on fire. Trains. You get the idea.

In my opinion that would be way more immersive than taxing the game hardware on overcrowding NPCs that you simply beat up in a overly massive game world. That was the problem in Arkham Origins. It's all about giving the environment character that makes the gamer feel immersed.

Who else here thinks that the Batman Beyond suit is one of the best suits in Arkham Knight if not the entire series?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 05:48 PM PDT

Like, honestly, it looks awesome and gives Batman an almost futuristic military feel which gives it an overall badass tone, it also kind of fits in with the story and theme of the city

Why do people want a populated Gotham?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 09:18 PM PDT

I don't have an attachment either way, but some people are SUPER into the idea and I don't know why. Like, what would that add?

Why is Wonder Tower missing in HQ's revenge DLC?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 03:01 PM PDT

I can't explain why. It can't be destroyed, it's in Arkham Knight after all.

Kevin Conroy Not Returning For New Batman Game

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 11:12 AM PDT

Kevin Conroy won't be back for WB Montreal's Batman Court of Owls Game. No news yet if Roger Craig Smith will come back, but if this is an Origins prequel like suggested, then I say it's a safe bet.

Running batman arkham knight on 4 GB ram on HP laptop

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 10:10 PM PDT

Recently I have purchased the free Batman Arkham Bundle from the Epic Games store and I was just wondering after watching lots of gameplay from arkham knight, will I be able to run it on my 4 gb ram laptop and receive some sort of smooth gameplay similar to what I have been seeing on Youtube?

Quick Question, does the Epic Store version of Arkham Knight include any DLC?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 12:52 AM PDT

Around a week ago, they were giving the game away for free on the Epic Store. However I don't see anywhere on any of the game's store page where you can buy the DLCs, and unlike the other two games, there is no "GOTY" subtitle or anything that indicates that the DLCs are included.

What if the logos in the tweets has nothing to do with the Batman game?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 03:44 AM PDT

What if it's from WBs second DC project? (Yes it was confirmed a while ago they were working on 2 DC IPs)

And they are using the arkham brand as a marketing tool to just say: "Hey were working on an arkham game, but check out our second IP"

I feel like it's free marketing (cross marketing) Between the games.

What do you guys think? I'd love to hear your opinion on my theory.
