    Unpopular opinion: Arkham City's story is pretty weak

    It starts strong, with Batman getting locked in Arkham City and the reveal that Hugo Strange knows who he is, but then it kind of falls apart. I'm also not a huge fan of the fact that Batman spends 90% of the game chasing a MacGuffin.

    The story is quite short and there's too many villains, with only Penguin getting enough attention. Joker gets sidelined until the finale and Strange does nothing until Protocol 10 is activated. He never follows through on his threat to reveal Batman's identity.

    The fight against Freeze, while it is a great fight, makes no sense in terms of story. There's no reason for them to be fighting, and they end up losing the Titan cure because of it.

    The story does have a lot of strong moments, most notably Joker's death but there's so much filler. The whole Penguin storyline feels like a sidequest. Why did Penguin kidnap Freeze? What was the point of the disruptors at the museum entrance?

    The pacing at the end is really off, too. I mean, you need to wrap up Joker's storyline, and you need to do it after Protocol 10, but it felt so rushed. There should have been another hour or so of gameplay between Protocol 10 and the movie theater, to let the ending breathe and to build up the Clayface twist a little more. Rā's al Ghul also deserved a second boss fight, maybe something similar to Deathstroke's fight in Arkham Origins.

    Arkham City has a lot of really strong moments, and I really like the game. It's the entry I've replayed the most times. But if you look at the story as a whole, it's pretty weak.

    So I know rocksteady has kill the justice league announced and suicide squad. But I want to see what they could do for Superman in an Arkham style game.

    Rocksteady has already proven 3 times they can make a phenomenal Batman game with great writing, great gameplay, and classic villains. I want to see a similar style of game done for Superman. Let me know your thoughts and what could be done for gameplay, story, and side quests.
