The day Gotham Knights was revealed was my favorite time on this subreddit

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 12:22 AM PST

Though everyone had different opinions on what they thought of the first look on the game it was just so much fun to see all the disappointed memes when we all saw the reveal.

The day before that there was a post on here of someone taking a moment to look back on the memories we've had on the Arkham series and being ready to continue that

only for a super misleading opening to the trailer followed by what no one was expecting. It was great. Who knows maybe the game will be a banger

Bruce's eternal quest for gloves that fit

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 03:48 AM PST

So I finished the first two games and am halfway through origins, and I am ever saddened that no matter how long batman succeeds in his quest for justice his gloves never seem to fit.

Unpopular Opinion: Why "Batman: Arkham Knight" is a Better Red Hood Story Than "Under The Red Hood", and Why Jason Was the Best Choice For Arkham Knight, i.e. a Better Choice Than All Other Batman Villains.

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 04:05 PM PST

(I am going to get a lot of heat for the following)

I always think that the final installment of any series should end with the biggest threat. I believe that with each sequel, there should be a bigger and badder challenge and villain. I believe that for a series to end on a climactic and high note, the villain should be stronger than all of the previous ones combined.

And who would make the most formidable and challenging enemy? What enemy poses the greatest threat? Someone who knows all your tactics, motives, intentions, abilities, resources, strategies, weaknesses, history etc. And who, in most cases, would know the most about you? Someone who is very close to you. And who is the closest to Batman? Alfred is, and after Alfred, the Batfamily is closest to Batman, but neither Mr. Pennyworth nor the rest of the Batfamily bear any enmity or grudge with Bruce.

Then the next question to ask is that of the people who DO bear a grudge against Batman, of the people who hate Batman, who is the closest? Who is the most intimate? Jason is. He has LIVED with both Bruce Wayne AND Batman for years. He trained with Batman. Thomas Elliott DIDN'T live with Batman. He didn't train with Batman. Hell, he only knew Bruce Wayne, and that too as a child. Sure, he learnt that Bruce Wayne is Batman and many other things, but that does not make him as intimate to Batman as Jason is.

Jason has SEEN Batman's tactics up close. He has learned and USED Batman's weaponry, tactics, plans and methods. He has heard of and been part of Batman, Alfred's and the Batfamily's private conversations. Thomas Elliott and Andrea Beaumont and most of the other villains don't get as close to knowing Batman as Jason does.

It's one thing to know someone by spying on and investigating about them. It's another thing to experience that and learn that information FIRSTHAND by living with them, which Jason did.

Most of the low-life thugs didn't know about Batman's detective vision, nor did they know about his other abilities. The point of Batman is to create an urban myth, something people didn't believe in, and the thugs not having any knowledge about Batman's gadgets made Batman look like a supernatural creature to these thugs. For example, if Batman is able to summon a swarm of hundreds of bats to his location, no one will realise that he did that by using some advanced, futuristic, ultrasonic device, right? They will think that Batman is a Demon from hell who can summon bats whenever he wills.

Jason helped these thugs realize that Batman is neither a supernatural God nor some urban myth. Jason taught thugs that Batman uses theatricality, deception, stealth, martial arts and advanced weaponry to make himself appear to be a ghost. Jason convinced these thugs that Batman is just an ordinary human being. Jason brings more to the table than what other villains do. He trains his men to beat the Batman. Penguin didn't do that. Joker didn't do that. Two-Face didn't do that. Riddler didn't do that. That's what Jason provides: Insider information and personal training, and that's why he is the most formidable villain unlike Red Hood from the comics.

And since the final installment requires its antagonist to be more formidable than the previous ones, Jason was the fittest to play the role of the Arkham Knight.

There is one more reason why Jason is the most formidable: He helped all of the underworld unite to take down Batman. Batman: Arkham City was inspired by the No Man's Land story, and in both stories, all of the villains are engaged in a turf war. Penguin's men, Joker's men, and Two-Face's men are fighting each other. Hugo Strange was taking advantage of the situation, because if he divides the criminals, it would be easier to conquer them and kill them in Protocol Ten.

But Jason Todd and Scarecrow convinced all of them to overlook their past conflicts and unite to build a stronger army against Batman, because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts; united we stand, divided we fall.

Apart from being formidable, Jason also has the most valid reason to hate Bruce, which also why he is the fittest to play the role of the Arkham Knight. Other villains don't have as valid a reason to dislike Bruce as he does. To people who say that Hush should have been the Arkham Knight, let me tell you that his reason to hate Bruce is stupid and insane and not justifiable enough compared to Jason's reason. Secondly, he does not have the knowledge nor the strength to rival Batman when you compare the former to Jason, so no he is far less suitable to play the Arkham Knight than Jason.

There is more character development for Todd in Arkham Knight than in Under The Red Hood in my opinion, because when he returns in that story, he simply becomes a vigilante who questions Batman's no-kill rule, whereas in Arkham Knight, when he returns, his main objective is to get revenge on Batman, to kill him, and to do so, he befriends criminals like Scarecrow, but then later on, he kind of realizes that even though Batman is a one-man army, and even though he hates Batman, it's unethical to risk all of Gothamites' safety by working with villains, because once they kill Batman, they won't stop there. They will return to crime. So Jason starts out as a Robin, becomes friends with Scarecrow and other villains, and then becomes a vigilante once again. That doesn't happen in the Red Hood movie. He doesn't hate Batman in that movie to the point that he considers colluding with criminals. In UDTRH, he was a vigilante who didn't kill who later becomes a vigilante who does. In Arkham Knight, he temporarily becomes a criminal before returning to being a vigilante. That middle phase of switching your alignment is the character development I am referring to.

Arkham Origins Season Pass DLC Unavailable

    Posted: 25 Jan 2021 03:20 PM PST

I just recently purchased the Origins Season Pass on my ps3 and have been able to download the skins packs and cold cold heart but can't download initiation. My in game store menu does not show it, it's almost as if it won't let me scroll down below the skins packs. Additionally psn is saying I don't own the season pass and won't let me download the two exclusive season pass skins off the store even though I just purchased it. Has anyone else run into these issues?

Just finished getting the platinums for the Rocksteady trilogy. Feeling glad but sad. How cool would it be if they came out with another? Perhaps a Batman Beyond game? Hmm..
