Arkham Knight’s combat is GOD TIER

    Posted: 09 May 2020 11:36 PM PDT

I understand why this game got a bad rap. Simon stagg, the cloudburst, Jason, I'm not a huge fan either. But god, the combat in knight is insanely better than city. The auto targeting is perfect, I always target the guy I actually wanna hit. The animations are smooth, fast, and you can break them and it looks very natural when you do. I love being able to counter 3 people, (while not having to press the counter button for them at the same time to counter multiple enemies like in the previous games)and punch/counter mid animation. The environmental takedowns, throwing a batarang at charging enemies, they added so many little things. The combat in knight honestly feels like writing poetry

Why I am staying a little more hopeful this time around...

    Posted: 09 May 2020 11:04 PM PDT

Hey everyone! I just wanted to come on here to voice my hope for this summer and why I think this is the time to be excited (hopefully…) I am just trying to stay positive and not lose my mind (lol)

    So…

    For starters,

WBGM was indeed planning on attending E3 this year, so if it weren't for the pandemic we would be seeing an announcement and potential trailer for the upcoming Batman Game in June

    https://kotaku.com/e3-2020-cancelled-1842267356

"There, WB Games had planned to talk about a number of much-anticipated games including a new Batman, a Harry Potter game that had leaked in 2018, and the next game from Arkham developers Rocksteady Studios. It remains to be seen whether Warner Bros. will instead hold its own digital event or do something else entirely."

But due to the virus, it had to be postponed but Geoff Keighley, as you all probably know, found an alternative way to showcase some of these games

    https://twitter.com/summergamefest/status/1256689802121932800?s=20

Recently, the community manager of WBGM (@Pahulle) reactivated her twitter and then retweeted the announcement of the Summer Game Fest - you can check her twitter and see!

    https://twitter.com/Theslasher411/status/1258221427024695297?s=20

With WB confirmed to be one of the announcements (as indicated in the picture of the line up for SGF), that means something from WB HAS to come this summer and as great as those Lego games are, I am PRAYING it is Batman.

Also, WBGM recently updated their Instagram bio claiming to stay tune for "daily events". Unless those daily events are photos of them working at home or enjoying staff lunch parties, it could be symbols or a countdown even (although that is a REACH)

Therefore, as it appears, WBGM is probably ready to showcase their new Batman game; if you even take a look at the game's director (@gellenor), he has multiple tweets from the past that state the "game is looking good".

    So what do we have?

    - Past tweets from the game's director claiming he is excited for the game and that it's looking good

    - WBGM almost attending and revealing their game this summer anyways at E3

    - The community manager of WBGM retweeting the lineup of the Summer Game Fest along with WBGM's Instagram bio being updated with confirmation that something from WB will be happening (daily events)

I really do not want to be let down again, but with all this evidence I hope that we will finally see this Batman game come to light and that we finally be gifted after all these years of waiting. Like come on, so many gears are turning if this isn't the time I don't know when is... Thanks for reading! Let me know your thoughts or if you think I'm totally crazy.

Interesting story parallels I noticed between Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight: In both games, the first act has Batman trying to rescue a kidnapped Gordon and watching him/her die, only to find out later that he hallucinated his/her death because of fear toxin.

Am I the only one that really disliked Arkham Knight?

    Posted: 09 May 2020 08:21 PM PDT

Don't get me wrong, from a technical level, it's really good, I just found the story and gameplay to be REALLY lackluster. I might even go as far as to call it my least favorite Arkham game, story wise.

Side Note: I really liked the Knightfall Ending, but it's one of the only things from the story that I liked.

    Open World Arkham MMO Pitch

    Posted: 09 May 2020 11:48 PM PDT

Here's a pitch for an Arkham Online Game if there was to ever be one. Thought it'd be fun to do since DCUOs mechanics need mad polishing and the games sorta dead. But anyways, heres the pitch!

TITLE Gotham: Arkham World (Yes I have no creativity and decided to bring up that old rumor. Pllease make your own title name in the comments please, I request assistance) GAMEPLAY

-Arkham Knight Map, Plus post Arkham Origins and City maps added, and the abandoned asylum, steel mill, and courthouse as possible Villain hideouts with the GCPD precincts as hero hideouts

-Same Arkham Knight Predator Stealth and Combat Mechanics

-The use of a vehicle of your choice , bike, aircraft, car. Just dont cram it down players throats at every mission or turn.

-Choices of movement: Catwoman climbing mechanic, Gliding and grapple, just grappling minus the gliding.

-Same customization as DCUO, but more styles and Arkham Stylized versions of the stuff we have in DCUO. Maybe some things could be behind a small paywall, sorta like how some of the DLC skins for Knight were really cheap.

-PVP toggle option, this would allow for Heroes and Villains to fight in the open world if they wish to.

-Combat preset decisions like: Hand to Hand, Staff, Escrimas, Firearms as quick fires if desired.

-Gadget decisions, most of the gadgets from Arkham Knight could be repurposed and edited for online use, allowing the player to pick each separate gadget for their loadout, instead of having preset loadouts like in all of the Arkham games (Besides Online). EX:Smoke bomb has its same use, just jams detective vision for the smokes duration when in the radius of the smoke in PVP.

-DONT bring back the Joker, and have an original plot for both sides.

-Maybe even include game modes like in Arkham Origins Online

    DEV TEAMS, PUBLISHERS

If I were to pick dev team(s)/companie(s), I'd say WB Montreal and rocksteady, they handled the Batman IP great and I couldn't see anyone else do a game like this. WBM would definetly be involved due to they're mastering of a Online Arkham Game

    WRITERS

For a story writer, it would be the same as Knight, Geoff John's. It'd make most sense because if you were to hire someone else, the story from the previous game wouldnt exactly line up with the next game.

Now if Paul Dini were to be a writer for DLC stories, I'd be totally fine. He was a good writer for BTAS' stories and he would definetly nail it as usual. Some writers like Todd Phillip's could also be great story directors!

    PLACEMENT IN THE ARKHAM TIMELINE

After Arkham Knight. With Wayne presumed dead, it would make sense for the villain players to go out a wreak havoc in the city with no fear of batman stopping them since he's well, presumed dead. This would also allow hero players to go out and stop NPC crimes in the city, along with villain players if they decide to. If its placed after Knight, it gives you that decision of "Do I wanna help this city for the better with Batman gone, or Do I wanna wreak havoc and bring the people to their knees?"

Leave your ideas or addons below, I'd honestly love a Arkham Online Open World game!
