    Batman: Arkham Knight.

I have a question regarding the Arkham Knight. Where did Jason Todd get the funding for his private militia and everything involved in the siege of Gotham City on Halloween night?

Why does this sub like Origins so much?

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 11:27 PM PST

I played it recently and I couldn't get into it. I consider myself a huge fan of the series but there's just something weird about Origins. I think the game looks awful and there's so many useless characters that feel poorly integrated into the story. I think that the bridge section meandered too far from the main story. I'm just curious how you guys got into it.

My Pitch For An Arkham Game

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 03:21 PM PST

I always liked the idea of Batman being downgraded. A room of thugs was never really a challenge if you spammed silent takedowns and kept up in the gargoyles. Whilst that was great for the feel they were going for, I always loved that extra challenge of there being a jammer guy you had to take out to get your detective vision back, or the gargoyles would explode and you'd need to use the map just like the thugs.

Imagine a downgraded batman where all his tools were a lot more manual and physical - sort of like last of us - where you'd physically pull out a hook and swing it over a vantage point and then shimmy your way up the rope to get in position. Instead of a button press and your enemies not being able to see you as you swing in front of them in a fully lit room, this would be a give and take - better vantage point, but you leave yourself vulnerable as you climb up. Detective Mode wouldn't be constant, but instead a pulse, like a submarine's sonar, and a lot of levels you'd have to go without. Your play a lot more like Catwoman, batman isn't beefy, he's more of a ninja-build and he has to mantle things, he can't just lock on. I always thought it would be cool in the games to have gameplay changing costumes - forgo armor for better movements, but take way more damage; constant detective mode in a teched-out suit, but that equipment makes you easier to hear as you move. Things like that. Imagine a "Create Your Suit" feature where, like Call of Duty, you could have this RPG element of making a suit to "suit" your needs. All your choices would come with positives and negatives for speed, noise, armor, gadgets, etc... A bit like when batman said a bigger belt "slowed him down" in Arkham City. Imagine a Batcave where you could select what gadgets you wanted to use before a mission. So say, you needed to use the batclaw and glue grenades and batarangs going into firefly, but every other gadget you could mix and match. More gadgets = slower movement, more noise / Less gadgets = less tech.

I think it would add real replay value to the game and introduce some really interesting strategy and depth to the gameplay.

    What do you guys think?

New Gadgets For An Arkham Game

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 03:35 PM PST

You're at a WBM gameplay meeting - what new gadget(s) do you pitch for an Arkham game?

My three (doesn't have to be three)

Projection Flash - A Batarang which, when it hits a surface, projects multiple images of batman through a built-in projector, causing any nearby enemies to shoot at the copy-bats. Useful for ramping up the fear in enemies and allowing you to take them down whilst they're distracted.

    Med Kit - Instantly regain a portion of your health mid-combat. Cannot be applied on gargoyle - 5 seconds/10%, 10 seconds/20%, 15 seconds/35%.

Thermite Batarang - Redirect enemy movement by blocking off certain pathways with a loud, sparking Batarang.

This is all hypothetically in a batman game I would make (a few posts after this one lol), but what ones do you guys have?
